Baby Blessings

A child entering your life as a new member of your family is truly a sacred time. Whether by birth or adoption, this is a time to honor and celebrate such a blessing.

Beacon of Light Ministry can help your new child begin life's journey with a beautiful, handcrafted ceremony, written by Dr. Boyarsky, to honor and celebrate the birth or adoption. The blessing ceremony or baby naming will be bathed in the love you share for your child.
A typical ceremony might include an opening statement, parents promising to care for the new child, honoring a sibling and grandparents, remembering those who have passed, candle lighting, a water ceremony, declaring the child's name and its meaning, and a closing prayer or blessing. For a baby naming or baptism, parents will receive a Certificate of Name or Certificate of Baptism.

We welcome suggestions from parents, family, and friends for making the ceremony personal, unique, participatory, and meaningful. Ceremonies can take place in any location that feels comfortable to you, including your home or backyard, a favorite restaurant or local park.

Non-denominational, interfaith, and secular ceremonies witness and honor the role that parents, siblings, grandparents, godparents, friends and/or extended family will play in this new baby or child’s life, establishing a foundation for a rich and meaningful life.
